<p>On Sunday, October 23rd, events will open at Autzen Stadium at 7:00 AM.</p>

<blockquote><p>The Komen Eugene Race for the Cure raises money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivors, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.  This year we are excited for the 2nd Annual Komen Eugene Race for the Cure! Please join us to walk or run the scenic 5K course near the Willamette River, starting and ending at Autzen Stadium. Thousands of walkers, runners and volunteers will join together in Komen’s mission to end breast cancer forever!</p></blockquote>

<p>Pacific Women’s Center is thrilled to announce that Dr. Sara Gerhards will be joining us on July 18, 2011!</p>
<p>Dr. Gerhards is a native Oregonian having grown up in South Eugene.  The natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, the wonderful people, and the sense of community in Eugene greatly influenced her life and overall values.  She always remained tied to Eugene.  It is because of this connection to her hometown that Dr. Gerhards and family decided to return to Eugene, following the completion of her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Buffalo.</p>
<p>Prior to obtaining her Medical Degree from Oregon Health and Sciences University, Dr. Gerhards completed her undergraduate degree in General Science and Folklore at the University of Oregon.  She has special interest in adolescence gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, and family planning.   She believes that great medical care and treatment should start with a conversation and end with customized medical solutions based on the needs, beliefs and desires of the patient.</p>
<p>In her free time, Dr. Gerhards enjoys taking advantage of the areas temperate climate by gardening, hiking, biking, and cooking.  Her favorite pass- time is spending time with her little girl and wonderful husband.  She is delighted to have the opportunity to raise her family in the best little city in the world.</p>
