Attention PWC Patients!
This is an exciting time for Pacific Women's Center.
We have two very important projects in the works and want to keep
you apprised of the changes you may have already noticed or will
begin to see.
EMR, short for Electronic Medical Records, is
our most immediate project. Beginning April 30, 2008, PWC will
begin using a paperless system. A paperless environment will allow
for immediate access to patient records, interface with
mandated claims formatting, reduce the deluge of paper products
found in every aspect of business today, and, most importantly,
we believe that streamlining this process will allow us to focus
more attention on our patients and their healthcare.
The process of implementing this paperless system
requires training, computer conversion, record scanning and manually
entering some of your medical and non-medical data. We may be asking
that you provide new updated information for your file registration,
medical history, immunization records, along with medications and
allergies. For some of you, this may mean re-writing information
we have previously asked for, but it is the best way to ensure
that the most current, accurate data is being captured within your
health record. The other impacts you may realize is that we will
be slowing down the pace of our appointments to accurately utilize
the new EMR systems why we are still learning. We hope to be back
up to normal speed with six months.
THANK YOU for your patience and understanding
as we attempt to improve your care! |

The
Charnelton building has been purchased by Lane County. As a result,
we have found a new home at 10 Coburg Road, located just at the
Northwest corner of Ferry Street Bridge, where Country Club Road/Martin
Luther King Blvd intersect at Coburg. We will begin construction
of a new facility with our ground breaking ceremony scheduled for
April 15, 2008. Watch for further information and details as this
exciting new location progresses.
